Book: "Conversational Intelligence: How Great Leaders BUILD TRUST and Get Extraordinary Results” by Judith E. Glaser
https://www.amazon.com/Conversational-Intelligence-Leaders-Extraordinary-Results/dp/1937134679
Overview:
Everything happens through conversations.
The key to success in life and business is to become a master of Conversational Intelligence®. It’s not about how smart you are, but how open you are to learn new and powerful conversational rituals that prime the brain for trust, partnership, and mutual success. Conversational Intelligence translates the wealth of new insights coming out of neuroscience from across the globe, and brings the science down to earth so people can understand and apply it in their everyday lives.
Author Judith E. Glaser presents a framework for knowing which kinds of conversations trigger the lower, more primitive brain; and which activates higher-intelligences such as trust, integrity, empathy, and good judgment.
Conversational Intelligence helps to make the make the complex scientific material easy to understand and apply. During the conversation, we will share easy-to-use tools, examples, conversational rituals, and practices for all levels of the organization.
“To get to the next level of greatness depends on the quality of the culture, which depends on the quality of the relationships, which depends on the quality of conversations. Everything happens through conversations.” Judith E. Glaser
This thought provoking discussion will be facilitated by Christine Kinney, and co-facilitated by Rhonda York and Harvey Smith.
As a reminder, you don't have to read the book to attend! Most do not, and we always have a very engaging discussion!
During this roundtable we'll:
· share our own experiences in this area in our businesses
· share best practices from our own personal experience or from industry thought leaders
· share ideas on how to improve the area within our businesses to fuel growth
Note: We are looking for people to facilitate book discussions in 2018, so please don’t hesitate to contact me if there is a book that you’re passionate about and would like to share with the group. The meetings take place the second Friday of every month. Thanks!
